Welcome to our bed and breakfast in Lorgues

Charming village located 13 km west of Draguignan, Lorgues enjoys a privileged location halfway between the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and the Gorges du Verdon.

Provençal village bathed in sunshine and with a flamboyant historic past, its wine estates, its shops and restaurants and its way of life will undoubtedly seduce you during your stay.

Around 1156, the Templars settled in Lorgues to form the Commanderie du Ruou. They endowed the city with solid ramparts of which some vestiges remain today. From the 14th century, many religious brotherhoods settled in Lorgues and built chapels, schools and convents.

Sunny site, well sheltered, easily accessible and supplied with water from many springs, Lorgues has been a place of habitat since prehistoric times. Our dolmens still bear witness to this. Important Ligurian village, with its oppidum-refuge on the hill of St Ferréol, it was then colonized by the Romans. In the Middle Ages, the Castrum remained sheltered from barbarian and Saracen invasions thanks to its ramparts.

The 18th and 19th centuries were rich periods with the construction of major monuments. The course of the Republic, central artery of Lorgues bordered by an alignment of beautiful bourgeois houses, is traced at this time. Conscious of the richness of their heritage, the Lorgues people are committed to maintaining and preserving it.
